Weekend Joy

Hi guys,

After Monday to Friday madness, it's finally time for some weekend happiness! Between cleaning the house, doing laundry and grocery shopping (hey, happiness comes from simple things, ha ha), we managed to squeeze in a little visit to the Botanical Garden. It was really nice and quiet and I very much enjoyed this mini trip.

I was waiting for my parents to come stay with us for the weekend, but unfortunately my father got caught up at work so they won't be able to arrive untill tomorrow morning. Bummer!

So, with the house being clean and the fridge being full, it's time for some Dirty Dancing and heavy eating :P!

I recently decided to re-watch some of my favorite movies, it's kind of my newest weekend tradition. Some of them I watched as a kid, so it will be interesting to see my adult perspective on them...Nobody puts Baby in the corner! :)

I wish you all the most amazing weekend!

Love,

Mamalina

Wedding Bliss

Hi guys,

Remember I told you that 2 weeks ago I attended our cousins' beautiful celebration of love? Well, I came back with some pictures from that special day! The party was held at Residence Domenii Plaza hotel in Bucharest, and I must say the location was perfect! Very classy and elegant! The thing that I loved the most about that place was actually its vintage style roof terrace with wonderful views of the city! I'll definitely go back there one hot summer evening for a nice dinner with my friends. That place really got my attention!

On a different note, the weekend is rapidly approaching! Hooray! Oh, how I love shorter working weeks!

Many hugs,

Mamalina

Celebrate good times...!

Mary had a little lamb, little lamb, little lamb...Mary had a little lamb, its fleece was white as snow...Then Easter came and she ate the little lamb, little lamb...:)).

Hi guys! Sorry for the lousy jokes about the poor little lamb that got butchered on Easter for the sake of tradition :P.

I love holidays mainly because I get to spend some time with my (extended) family, and this Easter was no exception! On Saturday I helped my mother in law prepare the traditional Easter dishes (drob, lamb onion and garlic stew). It was...interesting, especially since my folks don't eat lamb, so as a kid I always "assumed" I don't like it either. Then, one Easter, I was invited to my boyfriend's house for lunch, and his mother had only cooked lamb (stew, soup, drob, you name it...). So I had no choice but eat it...I cannot say it became my favorite dish, but it was ok.

After lunch, we painted the eggs ( a more enjoyable activity :P), then we went out with friends and at midnight we went to church to bring home the Holy Light.

On Sunday we went to my grandparents' house for a barbecue. The weather was absolutely beautiful and we had a wonderful time.

As you can see, I had a quite traditional (and beautiful) Easter. Now, I'm back in Bucharest, starting work tomorrow (reality check!!!) and trying to survive the thought that I still have almost 2 months 'till my holiday in France. Be still, my beating heart!

I hope you enjoyed the holidays and I wish you all a wonderful week!

Hugs,

Mamalina

Summerish Spring

Hi guys,

Let's start with the most important thing: today was Labor Day which means I didn't go to work (Yeeeey!).

In Romania, 1st of May is also "Going to the seaside day" for the majority of young people who want to get drunk and party hard :). It's becoming quite the tradition to go to resorts like Vama Veche on Labor Day, and even though I could easily integrate with all the rockers, hippies and other free spirits (:P), it never became "my thing" to do this. Instead, I would usually plan this big barbecue with my friends, somewhere outside the city.

This year though, I decided to just chill at home with my boyfriend. We woke up late, ate lunch at our favorite nearby restaurant, basically just relaxed! It's funny how doing such ordinary things can make you so happy! I wasn't at all envious of some of my acquaintances/ co workers posting photos from the seaside on their Facebook page, or of the smell of barbecue coming from virtually everywhere. I ate pasta and drank lemonade and it was awesome!

Now I have to gear up for Easter! Spending quality time with family and eating tons of homemade goodies! God, I love holidays! :)

Hugs,

Mamalina
