Summertime Sadness

Hi guys,

Clap along if you think this summer weather is crappy! Yesterday, it went from scorching heat to pouring rain in less than an hour...and it totally caught me off guard as I was leaving the supermarket, without an umbrella. It wasn't fun, I'm telling you!

Anyway, in 2 weeks time I'll be leaving for Croatia, and I sure hope this weird weather won't ruin my vacation.

Moving forward to today's outfit, I'll start by sharing a little story! If you've been reading this blog, you know that I have a huge obsession with skirts and dresses. About 3 years ago I lost a lot of weight, and I had to change almost my entire wardrobe. Most of my dresses from that period don't fit me anymore (they are up to even 2 sizes too large). But since I love them so much, I just had to find ways to adapt them to my current size and wardrobe. I chose not to alter them, but instead I decided to add other items (shirts, sweaters, tops) in order to transform them and give them a creative edge. This outfit is part of a little project that I called "Re-dress". The top part of the dress is too large, so I added this cute shirt which I tied around the waist. The result? A fun print mixing with a subtle retro vibe that I absolutely adore! Let me know if you like it! In the following period I'll be showing you more examples (some of which I've already posted on the blog), as part of this project.

Have a lovely week!

The new adventures of old clothes

Hi guys,

I had such a busy weekend and I'm completely exhausted. I went shopping with my in laws all day Saturday. Apparently, I don't normally walk that much,  as I now have blisters on my feet...:). But what hurts the most isn't the blister, but the fact that I didn't buy anything for myself :)). I've spent a whole day at the mall, and came home with nothing! Well, this never happened before! I'm not what you would call a smart shopper. I'm rather impulsive. I buy clothes for all the (wrong) reasons: when I have a bad day, when I have a great day, when I'm sad, when I' happy, when I'm frustrated, when I'm angry, when I'm excited...you got the idea! Acknowledging this is the first step, the next one would be to make a change.

So, for today's post, I thought I'd search my closet for some older items that I haven't worn in a while. I have this special closet (my boyfriend calls it 'the place where clothes go to die', because I never wear them again :P), so I decided to take a look and see what I find there. I found this Nissa skirt that I got about 3 years ago, it has a beautiful shape and fabric, and I love that it has pockets. And what about this cute Zara blouse with the amazing floral print and the beautiful color? I did't even remember I had it. Red has always been one of my favorite colors, so it seamed like a good idea to build an outfit around this color.

So? Would do you guys think? Did these items deserve to see the light of day?

Have a lovely week!

Counting the days

Hi guys,

One more month and I'll be traveling to Croatia for a well deserved vacation! I've been wanting to go there for a while now, ever since my friends visited it a couple of years ago. It seams like an oasis of natural beauty! We decided to travel by car, because we heard that the road in itself is breathtaking, as you are seduced by these stunning views throughout the drive.

After visiting Plitvice Lakes National Park, we plan to stay for a couple of days in Dubrovnik and then travel to Split to spend the rest of our vacation! Beside its history, culture and amazing architecture, the fact that Dubrovnik is one of the filming locations for Game of thrones is a definite plus! Beware: Tourists are coming! :)

I'm counting the days...

Have a beautiful Sunday!

Ain't that a kick in the head?

Boy, this sure is a weird summer! It drives me crazy! But I try to look on the bride-side (see what I just did here? :P) and hope that summer weather will shift towards October, right in time for my perfect wedding day! Finger crossed, cause this is the only way I can accept the cold mornings, the rain, the thunderstorms!

Now that I got this out of my system, I'll move forward to my outfit and tell you guys that I love sales! But then again, who doesn't? I love sales, but I absolutely hate crowds. Which means that by the time I hit the mall during sales periods, I almost never find items in my size... Bummer! This year though, I got lucky! I went to Zara and found these 2 lovely pieces! It was love at first sight! I did't have time to enjoy the moment too much, as I was too busy spending half my paycheck on other lovely items :D! Oups! I went so crazy that I actually bought some full price items, in peak sales period! My Gosh, I need help! So I guess I'll go back to hating crowds and avoiding the mall, at least for a little while!

How about you guys? What's your experience with sales?
