Parks and recreation

There's nothing quite like a walk in the park on an autumn day. Unfortunately, I think we're not exploring our parks nearly as much as we should... Last Saturday, an early morning mist was the preview of a beautiful autumn day. On our way to the dentist (Alex had to remove 2 wisdom teeth, poor fellow), we stopped to Cismigiu for a nice walk in the park. We were welcomed by this dazzling display of rusty colors, billion of fallen leaves which carpeted the ground...It was so easy to get lost in that mystical fairytale.

The magic rapidly went away after we left the clinic...Alex was in scorching pain, and basically has been like that for the past 3 days. It breaks my heart... I can't wait for him to get better so we could explore our beautiful parks together during what's left of this season. This spectacle of nature is hauntingly beautiful.

Have a beautiful rest of the week,

Love,

The one I laugh with...

Only one is a wanderer; two together are always going somewhere...

As most you know, I got married this autumn, but most importantly, I earned a lifelong best friend! Yep, he's my best friend! I've known him for what feels like forever! We grew up together, and I truly hope we'll grow old together!

Love,

Seasonal favourites

Hi guys,

One of my favorite things about autumn is the fact that I spend more evenings at home, instead of going out. It might sound strange, I mean, who doesn't enjoy going out? Well, I don't necessarily like to go out; most of the times I do it because I want to see my friends. But I would much rather invite them over or go to their place, than spending hours in a crowded, nosy place, full of smoke.

During this season, the evenings at home have a certain charm. Cooking, movie marathons, board-games, you name it! There are tons of ways to enjoy our time at home, both alone and surrounded by our friends.  I don't know if I've mentioned it before, but my husband is a great cook (lucky me!). Lately, he's been trying these awesome risotto and pasta recipes, which are just perfect for this time of the year! Yesterday, for example, he made butternut squash pasta- words can't describe how tasty it was! I think I'm going to document one of these cooking sessions, and post it, just because he has this way of combining different recipes and they turn out amazing!

How about you guys? What is your favorite way to spend an evening at home?

Hugs!

Wake up and smell the coffee

I have a bad habit! I don't know about you guys, but every weekend I succeed to mess up my sleeping schedule. During the working days, I usually go to sleep a little bit after midnight, and wake up at about 7:30 AM. But on Friday, I somehow act like it's the last night of my life: I stay up extremely late and that leads to me sleeping in late on Saturday, usually till noon. It seems to me that beside disrupting my sleeping routine, I am also loosing precious weekend time. I have a full time job, every day of the week, from 9 to 5, and when I get home from work I'm pretty numb, tired and moody...So there's not much I can do. Weekends are my only chance to relax and decompress from all the stress so I can't afford sleeping in late. So from now on, I decided to keep to the exact schedule throughout the whole week and fill my free days with awesome activities that would help me to unwind.

Now all that is left is convincing my husband to do the same! If I'm all alone in this little adventure, I'm afraid I'm gonna fail. Waking up early on weekends is not easy, especially when the person next to you is still in the land of dreams with no intention to join you in your "fun weekend activities"...

How about you guys? Do you succeed to keep to a certain sleeping routine?

Hugs,

Mamalina
