Standing with an army

Hi guyyyyz,

For many of you that have been following me for the past few years on this blogging journey, this look I'm showing you today might seem like something sooo far away from my style, and it probably sort of is... (great use of English language on this phrase, Mamalina, congrats!). What I'm trying to say is that I'm more of a dress/skirt kind of person. But don't get fooled by the (many!) skirts that I've got, I'm still, I'm still Mada from the block! Pfff! Why do I even bother writing this post? I'm just gonna make a fool of myself... Anywayzzz, this is quite an edgy look for me, but is definitely something that I've been enjoying wearing lately. Oversize sweatshirts or sweaters are the greatest invention ever, so comfortable, and you can find so many ways to style them and make them work for you.

This camo sweatshirt is actually from the men's section at H&M. I'm so jealous of so many items I spot in the men's sections at different stores, I love the prints, the shape and overall quality of them and sometimes I'm just crazy enough that I actually buy one. This is a size too big even for my husband, so I practically swim in it, but I love this freakin' sweatshirt and would wear non stop! I thought it would be a good idea to combine it with some ripped black jeans and a bit of fishnets peeking through, for that cool factor that I always strive to achieve :). Yup, my ultimate goal is to be cool. This is so teenagerish of me, but I guess I'm pushing strong on that thirties crisis that everybody talks about. I'm turning all Benjamin Button on my style :)).

This will probably be my last post before leaving for Morocco. We'll be leaving on Saturday morning and I cannot contain my excitement! Hopefully, they will have a decent internet connection over there so that I could spam you with a lot of pictures, cause I think it's going to be pretty fantastic. It will also be so nice to take a break from this freezing weather, I'm ready for some sun like there's no tomorrow!

Bye guys! Take care! Talk to you soon!

One upon a time, on a Saturday morning (a short story)

Hi guyzzzz!

Still winter, huh? Yup! (insert sigh).

You know when you look outside your window and you think to yourself: "C'mon, how cold can it actually be?!?" Noup? Doesn't sound familiar? Are you telling me you're all normal, smart people that can actually understand what -6 degrees feel like? Oh, crap!

Anyway, let's assume you open your window and tell yourself that you're probably going to be able to endure 10 minutes in the cold, wearing just a sweater, because that's aaaaall it's gonna take, right? Only 10 minutes, only a couple of photos here and there and you're done! Easy peasy! Piece of freakin' cake! Like, c'mon, photographer husband! I promise it will only take 10 minutes! Can't you spare 10 minutes of your life for this poor little girl's happiness? Because that's aaaaall I need to be happy! Yes, I'm that shallow! And crazy! And no, I won't get sick! I'm secretly a super-human with special abilities! And there you were, thinking I was a regular person!

Let me paint you a short description of my Saturday morning.

Woke up super early, made a delicious breakfast, used the fact that I made breakfast to make my husband feel bad so that he would go outside with me for a "tiny" photo shoot, got dressed, got in the car, arrived to the Botanical Garden (wearing high heels!!!), prayed to God there was no one there to film me while I was trying to maintain my balance and then post it on Facebook, took a few pictures, took more pictures cause I was bored of the same location, cried because I was freezing, took a few more pictures because I didn't leave home for nothing..., freaked out because I wasn't feeling my toes, yelled at my husband because he had found an interesting looking tree and started to take close-ups of the icy leafs, went to see the photos and congratulated him cause they were actually pretty awesome and Instagram worthy, realized that I couldn't speak properly because my face was numb, thought it was funny because of the "I can't feel my face when I'm with you" hit song by The Weekend (and ironically it was Saturday), cried and yelled at the same time because I realized how far we were from the car, started to run (in heels, on ice) towards the exit, yelled at my husband who was still photographing trees, got to the car, turned on the heat to max, waited a few minutes to de-freeze, took the camera to check out the photos, realised it was aaaaaalll worth it!

The end!

Frozen city

Hi guys!

Didn't plan to post any time soon because we were hit by a snow storm a couple of days ago and I was afraid I couldn't go out to take pictures. But as it happens, it wasn't that bad :). It was actually pretty magical. It started snowing on Friday, and with the weekend coming, we could actually enjoy the white city. The parks were still untouched on Saturday when we went for a stroll, and everything looked straight out of a painting. I can't remember the last time Bucharest was so astonishingly beautiful.

I have to warn you guys: this is not an outfit post :). I was thinking more about staying warm than being fashionable. I was wearing a sweater, a coat and an oversize sweater, so there was some serious layering going on :P.

I really hope you'll enjoy the photos. I am currently laying on my couch, watching some TV shows and drinking mulled wine. Is it me or did I just describe a typical winter Sunday afternoon? Yup!

Many hugs and a wonderful week ahead! Stay warm!

Winter time, all the time

Hello and Happy New Year everybody!

Here we go... 2017... Time flies, there's no question about that! We just got back from Bulgaria last evening and today we were hit by reality because we went back to work. It was a short holiday, but it was just what we needed to recharge...

We went snowboarding in Bansko and it was awesome! We were a bit worried when we got there, I'm not gonna lie! There were no signs of snow down in the resort. But the slopes looked amazing the next morning and we had the best time! Every year, I'm trying to show some evolution as far as my snowboarding skills are concerned and I end up turning my ass and knees purple. This year was no exception! I landed on my ass more times than I could count but on the bright side, I really feel like I've progressed, so it was all worth it!

Anywayzzzz, in today's post I'm basically gonna show you some variations of my winter uniform. These are all outfits I've worn throughout my holiday and they represent my style for the season. Chunky sweaters, plaid shirts layered underneath a v-neck, warm hats, boots. As much as I love dressing up, I always choose comfort during wintertime.

I hope you'll enjoy the photos. I wish you all a wonderful new year and may all your wishes and resolutions come true!

Love,

Mamalina
