Wearing someone else's clothes

Hi guys,

Nope, it is not an illusion! I am actually wearing jeans :). This doesn't happen very often, but lately, with this rainy weather, jeans have become part of my daily uniform! The idea of this composition started with the shirt! I've had my eyes on this shirt for a while... in Alex's dressing! Yup, this is his shirt! I simply adore the print and fabric, I never seem to find such quality in women shirts (bummer)... The colors were beautiful also, and a perfect fir for my coat and hat. Talking about the coat: this is an old Zara coat, it had this military style that you can still notice if you look at the pockets and shoulders. And since I didn't quite enjoy that excessive military appearance, I decided to give it a little makeover. I replaced the buttons (it actually had 2 sets of big, gold buttons on each side, and I decided to stick with (and replace) only one of those sets. I'm happy with the result, as now I can go back to wear it more often. It was a pity, I really loved its color and shape, I had to do something to bring it back into my wardrobe. The bag was my Christmas present from Alex (the guy's got taste, what can I say) and the boots are a consequence of my last sales shopping spree :).

Enough about my little projects and guilty pleasures... I wish you guys a beautiful week ahead and sunny days. I've kinda had enough of this gloomy weather! It makes me want to hit the mall to cure my depression, and this is not acceptable because I'm actually trying to adopt this "no buy" challenge, to put money aside for my summer holiday... So please, let there be sun :)!

Many hugs!

La vie est belle

Hi guys,

First of all, thank you all so much for your kind words on the previous post. I'm humbled! I'm so glad you liked it!

I'm the happiest when I travel (this is why I picked travel as my wedding theme, not just because I wanted a theme, but because it means so much to me)! It's my escape! I love discovering new cultures, I love visiting places that I've only seen in movies or documentaries. I love walking unknown streets or overly crowded markets, soaking everything up! Nothing quite compares with the excitement of steeping out of the plane in a new city!

Unfortunately, I don't get to travel as often as I would like to (given that I only have like 23 free days a year and let's face it: not enough money to travel the world :P). But I sometimes get inspired by places I've visited or that I would enjoy visiting and try to recreate that dream through my blog and my outfits.

In this post, I wanted to do exactly that! I visited France 2 years ago and I absolutely adored every single day spent in that beautiful country! One of my fondest memories has to be that of Alex proposing to me at Disneyland, the sky enlightened in thousands colors by breathtaking fireworks and music singing: "It's magic everywhere!"... Seeing Paris from the top of the Eiffel Tour was also pretty big... a dream come true! This post is meant to be a tribute to the city of love!

I hope you guys like it!

Hugs!

My wedding, from A to Z

Hi guys,

I'm back with more details and photos to tell the story of my special day! If there's something that I haven't covered, or if you need any kind of advice or have any kind of question, please feel free to ask and I will be happy to answer!

Here we go:

The Dress: My dress was Pronovias and it truly was my dream gown: it has this beautiful embroidery, a gorgeous train, this vintage-like lace and a perfect shape. I felt like a princess wearing it!

The Veil and Headpiece: I chose a long, silk veil but I only wore it during the church ceremony. For the rest of the day, I only wore a hair accessory, custom made by Lorelai. My hairstyle was pretty simple, and that headpiece was the perfect choice to complete my look. I thought it looked amazing with my backless gown.

The Shoes: The shoes were Sepala, by Mihaela Glavan. I really loved the details and I ordered them before actually finding the wedding dress. But I knew they will be perfect for the look I was going for, and they were. They were also very comfortable, which is essential for every bride, but was even more important for me as I don't usually wear heels!

The wedding rings: Our wedding rings are super simple, golden, from Polello. Mine has a small, delicate diamond. As for the inscription, we chose not to write our own names. Instead, we wrote "My Precious" (we couldn't help it, we are big LOTR fans :P).

Groom's outfit details: Alex's suit was custom made by Tudor, and it turned out beautiful. My favorite item form his outfit was the tie from Urban Neckers that had an adorable print: pink flying pigs (it was a mockery of what all our friends used to say to us- that we would get married when pigs fly- an "in your face" kind of deal :P).  All the groomsmen and our godfather wore the same print on their bow ties.

That first look...goosebumps! :)

Bridesmaides and Groomsmen: After I said YES to the perfect dress, I started looking for the perfect bridesmaids dresses. I wanted a dress that they could wear even after the wedding. And I found the perfect ones in one of our fellow bloggers' collection: My Silk Fairytale. The dresses turned out perfect! The color matched Alex's suit, and the lace was very similar to my wedding gown. The girls loved them and they looked beautiful! And what about our groomsmen's James Bond-ish look? Pretty hot, huh? :)

Flowers: Since it was an autumn wedding, I chose seasonal colors and flowers for the bouquets and the centerpieces. My beautiful and very talented friend Gina helped me with all the flower arrangements and I was beyond thrilled with the results. If you want to admire more of her work, you can visit Studioul de flori.

Wedding theme: My wedding theme was travel. Both me and my husband are travel enthusiasts, we love to explore the world so it seemed like an appropriate theme for our special day. After all, marriage is going to be the most exciting journey of our lives.

Place cards/ Menus: It all started with our wedding invitations, that you can see here. The amazing team from Red Wedding helped us with the invitations, place cards and menus, and also with these bridesmaids boxes for my girls. I absolutely adore their work and I recently saw some previews of their 2015 collection... Gorgeous! You can check out their Facebook page to see for yourselves!

The wedding favors: Delicious biscuits from The Cookie Vault in the shape of stamps and famous buildings form my 3 dream cities: London, Paris and New York.

The wedding cake and candy bar: I was honored to have a Cookie Jar cake at my wedding (you can see our excitement in the photos below :P). The super talented Anca Feodor designed the perfect travel themed cake and it was absolutely delicious: chocolate ganache, mascarpone moose, meringue and raspberries- yuuuumy! As for the candy bar: I think the pictures are pretty relevant! :)

Decorations: For the seating plan, we had a world map made by Foam Bubbles, and every table was a city. Then we bought these cute postal cards from Carturesti and hand-wrote every person at the tables. We didn't have table numbers. Instead, every table had the name of a city, and the name was written on these cute props shaped as cars, planes and air balloons, that were integrated into the fower arrangements. The props were made by Anita's Letters.

Music and the wedding dance: Our wedding dance song was: When I need you, by Rod Stewart. We had a pretty complicated choreography :), but our dance instructor was amazing so we managed to do a good job! We also had a group dance, with our friends, on Michael Jackson's Thriller. It was epic!

We had a live band, Friends (loving the name, btw). They were amazing and made sure everybody had a wonderful time!

In the end, I have to thank our amazing photographers, Irina and Robert from Cromatica for offering us these amazing memories! Seeing these photos once again was pretty emotional! I loved every minute of that day and I'm so thankful to my friends and family for being there for me during that roller coaster of a day!

I hope you guys will enjoy this post and once again I encourage you to ask any kind of question :).

Hugs!
