Sweet escape {Florence Travel Diary}

Hi guys,

There's no arguing with the fact that we live in some pretty strange times... Without mentioning anything in particular (because we all lived and felt every moment of pain and despair brought by the recent tragedies), I'm just going to say this: I'm hurt and I pray to God for a better and safer world!

I've been through some rough patches this past couple of months, after a period of prolonged stress that triggered a pretty ugly case of anxiety! I'm not going to share much on the subject, but I am more than happy to answer to your questions, if any of you are going through something similar, so do not hesitate to ask! The bottom line is that I wasn't myself anymore, and all that's been happening kind of forced me to slow down, to analyze which are the main stressors in my life and to try and eliminate them. Things happen with the world outside that we don't understand, but what I'm trying to say is that sometimes, our own world, the one within us, can also be shattered and we have to take better care of ourselves!

Travel has always been my escape, and during these times, it helped tremendously. We had bought the tickets to Florence some time around March. As the departure date approached, I was becoming worried that I wouldn't be able to enjoy the city break, because I wasn't feeling well. Still, I decided to go and it was amazing! The weather was perfect, there were fewer tourists than usual, the views were spectacular, the food was delicious. It was such a nice escape from everything, it was almost a healing experience. Because travel does that sometimes... it takes you away from the hurricane that is your life, and slows you down a bit, makes you enjoy things.

I hope you guys will love the photos as much as I do! Florence is beyond beautiful. You will be seeing some panoramic views of the city, taken from the Giotto bell tower, the Dome and Piazzale Michelangelo. I'll soon come back with more images from the trip.

Many, many hugs!

Mamalina
