Punk Romance

You know how some women have this puffy, yet super cute morning face? Well, as you'll see below, I do not fall into this category :)).

Still, for the sake of my outfit, I'll share the photos with you guys :)!

One morning in Corfu, we passed by this little olive tree forest which was amazing. It seemed like the perfect decor to take some pictures since I was wearing this lovely long embroidered skirt. I decided to add a touch of punk to my romantic skirt for an edgier look, so I paired it with this skull top. I love how the skull's strong red eye patch creates a contrast with the outfit's mostly neutral color.

Hope you guys like it! Let me know what you think! How do you wear long skirts?

Love,

Mamlina

A pocketful of sunshine

Hello,

It's so sad to see that the days are getting shorter, the leaves on trees are slowly turning yellow...I don't think I'm ready for cold weather just yet :(!

And to be honest, as mush as I love Bucharest, I can't help but saying it is not the best place to enjoy Autumn rains.

Thank God for Corfu related blog posts giving me the chance to talk about swimsuits and beachwear...This makes the transition from summer to rainy autumn a lot smoother.

On one of my many walks on the beach in Corfu, I was wearing this asymmetric Blanco dress. The tribal print was perfect for the sauvage look I was going for. What I love the most about this dress, besides its tribal print, is the fact that  it has pockets :D. I love dresses or skirts with pockets!

Hope you guys like it! I wish you a smooth transition to autumn also!

Love,

Mamalina

Won't you take me to...Corfu Town!

I must confess that as much as I enjoy sitting all day long at the beach, relaxing, I sometimes feel the need to just walk along an amazing city's streets and do a bit of sightseeing.

Luckily, on Corfu Island I got to visit one of the most interesting cities in Greece, referred to as Corfu Town- a place with a heavy Venetian influence (coming from the time Venetians controlled the island).

Besides taverns, cafes and shops of all types, you have this amazing old city just lying there, between the two fortresses, just waiting for you to discover its many beauties on foot.

This was exactly how we spent one afternoon in Corfu.

For this special, hot day, walking in the sun I chose to wear my favorite jeans shorts, a strap top with studs and flat sandals- fun, yet comfortable. You can also spot my new printed denim shirt, that I brought with me in case it got chilly in the evening :).

 Love,

Mamalina

Floral Dream

Hello!

Beside its amazing views and beaches, Corfu is famous for its cuisine which comprises many delicious dishes. I could say that corfiot cuisine is somewhat of a combination between Mediterranean cuisine (olive oil, vegetables, cheese, pastas, meat) and Venetian cuisine, cooked with local spicy recipes- mmmm, yummy!

This makes Corfu a food-lover's dreamland. Me and my friends (petits gourmands) tried all the corfiot delicacies like: sofrito, stifado, tsatziki, saganaki, moussaka and of course a lot of sea food.

Because we wanted to make sure we would enjoy the full culinary experience, we searched for the best restaurants in Paleokastritsa on Trip Advisor and went directly to the target :).

One of our favorite restaurants was actually a family tavern called Nausika, a traditional restaurant with great food, very nice staff and pleasant atmosphere.

For me, this was a great occasion to dress up a bit, after spending the whole day in a swimsuit and with sand in my hair :).

Here, I'm wearing a floral print shirt dress. I'm definitely in love with floral prints and I'm glad they were so hot this season! Beside its beautiful colored print, the dress has a very light, thin fabric that makes it just perfect for a hot summer day.

Combine it with some cute accessories and you'll get yourself a great outfit for a late afternoon dinner with friends.

Hope you like it!

Love,

Mamalina

Sand on my feet

Hello!

We got back from wonderful Greece last night and still haven't got used to the idea :) Everything was exactly how I imagined: emerald waters, perfect blue sky, stunning cliffs beaten by waves, beautiful forests, hundreds of olive trees, virgin beaches... We stayed in Paleokastrita, a small  village on Corfu island with spectacular surroundings  and truly breathtaking views. Every day, we drove along the coastline to some of Corfu's most beautiful beaches. One of the first beaches we visited was the cosmopolitan Glyfada, a lovely golden sand beach, where these pictures were taken.

My big fat greek trip is over, but I'm glad I have the opportunity to relive my adventure over the next blog posts.

Beside the classic vacation look book posts,  I'll try to share my personal interpretation of beachwear, and I cannot talk about beachwear without mentioning my choice of swimsuits. Shopping for a swimsuit can prove to be an unpleasant experience, especially if you don't know what shape best fits your body type. After trying different shapes over the years, I finally settled on two-piece swimsuits with bandeau bra, which I believe it's a good choice for my body type.

Here, I was wearing a Calzedonia swimsuit, with a floral print and a beautiful beaded embellished bandeau bra. I combined it with an orange shirt (a very good color for tanned skin), jeans shorts and a pretty hat, for a perfect beach outfit.

I hope you like it. I'll come back with more :)

Love,

Mamalina
